K&S Freighters Ltd is a successful and growing company. Based out of Cambridge, Auckland, Mount Maunganui and Christchurch, K&S Freighters Ltd are part of the wider K&S Group which has been in operation for over 60 years.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanics who have had at least 1 year previous experience working with Heavy Vehicles to join our team at our Cambridge workshop. You will join a knowledgeable team to help maintain, repair and service our modern fleet of Class 5 vehicles within our business.

Training for electronic systems and engines is provided.

Permanent role. Generally, 50+ hours per week, Monday to Friday. Saturday morning rostered work, so must be able to work when rostered on.

To be successful in this role:

  • Able to multi task
  • Thrive on challenges
  • Demonstrate exceptional workmanship
  • Be available for a rostered callout system
  • Team player, willing to help others in the workshop when required
  • At least 1 year previous experience as a Mechanic
  • Class 5 license preferred but not essential
  • A strong Health & Safety focus
  • Able to pass pre employment & ongoing D/A Tests
We will offer:
  • Min 40 hours per week
  • On the job training and ongoing coaching
  • Uniform and PPE including boots provided
