STMS A/B Practising – Waikato
Tradestaff is on the lookout for experienced STMS A/B Practising operators ready to step into solid, ongoing work across the Waikato.We partner with a wide range of clients across civil, roading, infrastructure, subdivisions, event traffic management and emergency response works. That means variety, consistent hours, and the chance to land on a site that suits your style.
You’ll be the one running the show on site when it comes to traffic management, keeping your crew organised, the public safe, and everything moving as it should.
What you’ll be doing:
- Planning, setting up, and adjusting Traffic Management Plans (TMPs)
- Making sure all works are compliant with current standards and site requirements
- Leading from the front, coordinating crews and delegating tasks clearly
- Managing site safety for workers, road users, and pedestrians
- Completing daily reports and handling any incidents professionally
- Overseeing equipment use and ensuring everything is maintained and fit for purpose
What you’ll bring:
- Current STMS Cat A / Cat B Practising Warrant
- Strong background in traffic management across varied sites
- Confidence leading crews and making decisions on the go
- Full Class 1 Licence (Class 2 is a bonus)
- Flexibility for on-call work and night shifts when required
- Good level of fitness, this is a hands-on role
- A proper safety-first mindset, no shortcuts
What’s on offer:
- $30 to $37 per hour depending on experience, site, and project
- Additional allowances and higher rates for night work where applicable
