The Role: Sewing Machinist & Administration
We’re looking for a motivated team member to join our Whatawhata, Hamilton workshop. In this role, you’ll work with advanced manufacturing equipment to produce world-class products. As part of our tight-knit team, your craftsmanship will play a key role in delivering precision products that frontline professionals can depend on.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate and maintain a wide range of sewing machines and related equipment.
- Carry out fabric cutting, marking, trimming, and finishing to exacting standards.
- Assemble components, zippers, elastic, webbing, cord, and hardware into finished products.
- Inspect and quality-check finished goods to meet strict performance requirements.
- Keep accurate production records, material use logs, and output counts.
- Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on sewing machinery.
- Package and label finished goods for distribution.
- Support stock management by receipting, unpacking, ordering raw materials, and maintaining stock levels.
- Assist with digitising patterns and design work when required.
- Uphold health & safety, personal presentation, and teamwork standards.
- Proven industrial sewing machinist skills with attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Ability to follow patterns, work orders, and quality guidelines with precision.
- Practical problem-solving ability for machinery and process challenges.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
