We’re looking for a Legendary Lone Star Sous Chef. Could it be you?
You will need to be an experienced Chef with a least 3 years of solid kitchen experience, preferably in a leadership role as a Sous Chef or Head Chef. You should have a current Basic Food Hygiene Certificate, or be willing to obtain one. Certificate in Professional Cookery, either from NZ or international, is a plus.Ideally this will be the Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Professional Cookery or the Level 2 City and Guilds Certificate in Culinary Skills.
Maintaining a clean, orderly kitchen should be second nature to you. You’ll be overseeing the kitchen when the Head Chef is away, so juggling cleaning, prep work, and working on colds, hots, grill and pans is all in a day’s work.You’ll be supporting the Head Chef to lead the kitchen team, so you’re a good communicator, comfortable delegating, and love training and mentoring great talent. And of course, you’re a top team player, ready to jump in and help at the drop of a hat.
You must be used to working with established systems and processes. In the Lone Star kitchens, we expect all our chefs to follow our Kitchen Bible and Operations Manual. Part of this is meeting all Health and Safety requirements, which you must be willing to meet at all times.
Most of all, you must be all about serving up flawless food to our guests, sending them home full of delicious Lone Star classics, and delighted with their experience.We’ve spent 30 years giving folks legendary experiences, and we don’t settle for anything less than the best when it comes to our Lone Star Crew.
The role is full-time and permanent. Working hours include evenings and weekends, with work on some public holidays required. We offer a competitive wage rate, the chance to work in a great team in a professional kitchen with excellent standards.
