Oral Health Therapist (Rotorua)

Permanent, Part Time (0.6 FTE/48 hours per fortnight)

The Community Oral Health Service is seeking a motivated and passionate Dental Therapist or Oral Health Therapist to join our fun and friendly Community Oral Health Service team, based in Rotorua. The position offered is permanent part time, which allows for flexibility and also enables a work life balance.

This position requires a registered Oral Health Therapist or Dental Therapist with sound clinical, administration and communication skills as well as a strong team commitment. We provide a supportive team environment, clinical peer support, on-going professional development and a fun friendly environment.

About the role
  • Conduct oral health assessments and develop individualized care plans.
  • Provide preventive and therapeutic dental treatments.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and disease prevention.
  • Collaborate with the wider healthcare team to promote holistic patient care
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
  • Permanent Part Time (hours to be negotiated)
About you
  • Have up-to-date clinical skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • You will need to be flexible, organised, self-motivated and demonstrate that you can work effectively with whanau to improve oral health.
  • You will be a team player who understand the importance of partnering with dental assistants and who values support, friendship and development.
  • You will have an appreciation of the values and culture that form our successful oral health team.
  • Demonstrates a commitment uphold Maori values and culture
