As a Senior Community Work Supervisor, you will oversee and manage community workers serving community work sentences on meaningful projects at schools, reserves, community groups, Marae and churches.

You will also provide leadership to a small team of Community Work Supervisors.Your key responsibilities will include:Managing people in our care who have been sentenced to community detention or community workManaging community work projectsMonitoring sentence complianceBuilding work relationships with community agenciesMentoring and coaching Community Work SupervisorsThis is a full

-time 40 hours per week role working Tuesday to Saturday based in Opotiki.Utu ā-tau | SalaryThe salary ranges from $68,027 to $74,673.

Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experienceWe are seeking a positive role model with a firm-but-fair management style able to motivate and work with a variety of people in a variety of situations.

A dynamic people-person, able to provide manaaki to our people on sentence and be the kaitiaki of our community work centre.
Your practical handy person skills and ability to communicate with individuals and groups will greatly support your success in this role.

You must work with high integrity and demonstrate the Departmental values within your work: Wairua, Whānau, Manaaki, Kaitiaki and Rangatira.We will give you the training and support you need to become part of our team working to make communities safer.You'll also need a Full New Zealand Driver Licence and the legal right to work in Aotearoa without restriction for a minimum of 24 months.Please note that the later stages of the recruitment process include pre-employment drug testing and police vetting.
