Service Technician – Automation & Maintenance
Are you a hands-on technician with a passion for solving problems and keeping complex systems running smoothly? We’re looking for an experienced Service Technician to join our engineering team and help maintain and support our automated processing plant.
About the Role
In this crucial position, you’ll be responsible for servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting our sorting machinery to ensure high availability and performance. You’ll work closely with engineers, technicians, and operational staff to drive improvements in reliability, efficiency, and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on automated equipment
- Diagnose faults and carry out timely, cost-effective repairs
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintenance protocols
- Maintain stock levels of spare parts and consumables
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and national standards
- Train and mentor junior technicians and operational staff
- Liaise with technical managers to support service performance across the network
What You'll Bring
Qualifications (any of the following):
- EWRB registration as a Service Technician or EST A/B
- OR formal mechanical trade qualification
Essential Experience:
- Proven experience in an industrial or production-line environment
- Skilled in fault-finding, diagnostics, and live machine maintenance
- Electrical and mechanical aptitude
- Familiarity with safety practices in engineering environments
Desired Skills:
- Pneumatics, hydraulics, and reliability-based maintenance experience
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational setting
- Proficiency with maintenance systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo)
- Device configuration, SCADA, and technical drawing literacy
