Lamb-Rearing Coordinator – Seasonal Role on Sheep Dairy Farm
Location: Waihaha, Lake Taupo, New ZealandEmployer: Southern Cross Dairy Sheep Technology – Waikino Station (Genetic Farm)
Contract Term: July 20th to late September/early October, with the potential for ongoing work in other areas of the business.
We're seeking a capable, hands-on individual to lead lamb-rearing operations on our progressive sheep dairy farm this upcoming season. This is a rewarding and practical role that would suit someone with prior experience handling lambs or goat kids, and a sincere interest in animal welfare.
Applicants must be based in New Zealand and have a valid work visa.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee daily husbandry of lambs throughout the season
- Ensure high standards of feeding, health monitoring, and general care
- Work closely with the farm team to ensure consistent, clear communication
- Maintain clean, safe, and well-organised rearing environments
- Hands-on experience rearing lambs or kids is a must
- A good communicator with the ability to work solo or as part of a team
- Genuinely cares for animal welfare and farm sustainability
- Reliable, hardworking, and proactive
