Localspecialist mental health and addiction care is one component of a completeservice continuum of care pathway. This is underpinned by an integrated wholeof system approach. TePaepae Ārahi Trust (in partnership with Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora MHAIDS)are seeking a Clinical Coordinator who can lead within a kaupapa Māorienvironment while ensuring strong clinical practice and safe pathways fortāngata whaiora.TheClinical Coordinator:Leadskaupapa Māori clinical practice within the service.Managesreferrals and triage using a holistic, whānau'centred approach.Integratescultural and clinical pathways in partnership with cultural staff, rongoāpractitioners, and MHAIDS clinicians.Supportsstaff wellbeing and development across a mixed workforce (clinical, cultural,lived experience, rongoā).Ensuressafe, effective, trauma'informed care.Upholdstikanga, kawa, and the kaupapa of Te Paepae Ārahi.Buildsstrong relationships with community providers, primary care, and MHAIDS teamsThisrole is ideal for someone who can move confidently between cultural andclinical worlds, lead with humility, and support a service grounded in Māoriways of being.About the service/team and locationTeWheke o Muturangi is a new kaupapa Māori clinical mental health and addictionservice supporting tāngata whaiora and whānau across Te Awakairangi.

Groundedin mātauranga Māori, wairuatanga, whanaungatanga, and rongoā Māori, the servicedelivers holistic care in homes, marae, and community settings.The service supports tāngata whaiora aged 18+experiencing moderate to severe mental health and/or addiction challenges.

Careis grounded in kaupapa Māori models of wellbeing, including Te Wheke, andaffirms wairuatanga, whānau-centred practice, mana motuhake andrecovery-oriented approaches.About YouYou will have:Clinicalregistration (e.g., nursing, social work, psychology, occupational therapy)with an Annual Practising Certificate.Experienceworking in kaupapa Māori or Māori'led services.Strongunderstanding of Māori models of health and tikanga.Skillsin risk assessment and therapeutic interventions/modalities.Abilityto lead in a bicultural, multidisciplinary environment.Full NZdriver licence.Abilityto consent to full NZ Police Vetting check including overseas check.Inreturn, we offer a a unique opportunity tocontribute to the development of a culturally grounded, community-basedspecialist service.Note that this role is covered under the terms andconditions of the relevant HNZ and union MECA.
