As a Cardiologist, you would be expected to providedevice troubleshooting and follow up support.In addition to cardiac rhythmpathology, you would participate in general and acute cardiology as well asechocardiography reporting.
All cardiologists participate in the on-callroster.Further interests such as advanced imaging with cardiac CT and MRI,heart failure and coronary angiography can also be catered for.You'll be part of a collegial and supportive team ofexperienced physicians with diverse subspecialty interests.
Our team worksclosely with nursing staff, allied health professionals, and primary careproviders to ensure an integrated approach to patient care.About the Team/Service/ LocationNelson Hospital's Cardiology Department is a growing and highlysupportive unit comprising specialist cardiologists, cardiac sonographers,cardiac physiologists, nurse specialists, and registrars.
The team provides abroad range of non-invasive and invasive services including acute coronarycare, diagnostic imaging, ambulatory monitoring, heart failure management, andinpatient consultations.Our service is well integrated with tertiary partners, ensuring seamlessaccess to advanced interventional and electrophysiology services when required.We pride ourselves on a collegial environment,strong interdisciplinary collaboration, and a commitment to continued servicedevelopment to meet the needs of our community.The cardiology service has a reputation for boxing above its weightranking highly in national league tables.
We have highly functionalmultidisciplinary team based on distributed leadership model that has access tonot only excellent interventional services with rapid access to interventionbut also highly functional cardiac imaging service that offers CT coronaryangiography, cardiac MRI as well as the standard echo and transoesophagealechocardiography.
Brady pacing, ICD and advanced pacing modalities are alsoonsite.Our team puts an emphasis on collegiality and trust amongst the team,and we work hard to protect this culture.To uncover a better work-life balance in Nelson, CLICK HEREor HERE About youBring medical expertise to an acute secondary care hospital and contribute to critical care to the patients in the Nelson region.Have sub specialist training recognised by cardiac society in non-invasive imaging.Have specialist accreditation in cardiology including device insertion, advanced non-invasive imaging (CT or Cardiac MRI), or percutaneous coronary intervention would be preferred.Hold Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Physicians (FANZCP), or equivalent.Be eligible for an Annual Practising Certificate and vocational registration of Cardiology with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
