Dental technician, Dental Ceramist

Project Dentistry is looking for a Dental Ceramist to join our dedicated team.

There is great potential for an ambitious technician who wishes to utilize the position to grow their skills and talent in the field of dental technology.

The position offered will be 40 hours a week full time employment working from Monday - Friday.

Experience in a dental laboratory will be preferred.

Located at the heart of Takapuna, we are a modern dental workshop and laboratory specializing in fixed prosthodontics and implant restorative dentistry. Working closely with some of the country's leading specialists and dentists, we manufacture a wide range of dental restorations ranging from fixed to removable.

Job overview:

We are looking for an experienced dental technician or a dental ceramist who is interested in being proficient in all aspects of dental technology who will be able to utilize the latest software based design/manufacturing of dental restorations.

Experience with the latest technology (CADCAM) will be of an advantage however all training will be provided. The applicant will also require an artistic aptitude for detailed and precise work and manual dexterity skills.

Experience with dental ceramics will be also of an advantage as there will be a position opening up for a dental ceramist as well.

This is a permanent full-time position that requires you to work 40 hours per week with an immediate start. Applicants are to provide both CV and a Cover letter along with references.

Responsibilities and duties:

Staining and Glazing of dental crowns ranging from single units to multiple implant cases

Broad knowledge of dental implants and restorations including crown and bridge.

Familiar with latest technology such as 3d printing and CAD/CAM milling machines.

Dexterous with dental ceramics and be able to finish simple pressed emax or zirconia crowns using stain and glaze technique

Ability to layer full/partial dental porcelain crowns and bridges

Qualification and certificate:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the dental industry.
  • Relevant education history.

Remuneration will be based on ability and experience. Detailed interview and a simple bench test shall be performed for the ideal candidate.

Applicants must have a valid work visa or a New Zealand residency.
