About the Role
Ultimate Ventures Limited is seeking an experienced and capable Store Manager to oversee the full operational, staffing, and commercial performance of a busy quick-service retail food outlet. The role requires strong leadership, business awareness, and the ability to make informed operational decisions to ensure efficiency, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
The Store Manager will be responsible for planning, organising, directing and controlling the overall operations of the store, including managing daily activities such as opening and closing procedures, cash handling, inventory control, and ensuring compliance with health and safety and food safety standards.The role involves recruiting, training, supervising and performance managing staff, preparing and maintaining staff rosters based on business demand, and ensuring appropriate staffing levels to meet operational requirements.
The Store Manager will monitor stock levels, manage ordering and supplier coordination, and implement effective inventory control measures to minimise wastage and maintain product availability. They will ensure consistent product quality, presentation, and service standards while maintaining efficient workflow and operational processes.
A key aspect of the role includes overseeing the commercial performance of the store by analysing sales data, customer demand, and cost structures to support decision-making. This includes monitoring product performance, adjusting product mix where appropriate, and contributing to pricing decisions within operational guidelines by considering local market conditions, competitor activity, and cost variations.The Store Manager will also implement and manage local promotional initiatives and in-store marketing activities to drive sales and improve customer engagement, while evaluating their effectiveness and making necessary adjustments.
The role further involves managing store-level financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, labour management, and achieving revenue targets. The Store Manager will handle customer enquiries, complaints, and feedback, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, while continuously identifying opportunities to improve operational efficiency, service delivery, and overall business performance.
In addition, the Store Manager will ensure compliance with all relevant employment legislation, company policies, and operational procedures, while maintaining accountability for the overall performance and day-to-day decision-making within the store environment.
Employment Details- Pay Rate: $30 to $35 per hour
- Guaranteed Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week
- Work Schedule: Rotating roster across 7 days, including evenings and weekends (store operates from 11.00 AM until 11:00 PM)
- Location: Rolleston, Selwyn
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in retail, hospitality, or food service management
- A NZQF Level 5 qualification (or equivalent) in business, management, or a related field
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to manage operations in a fast-paced environment
- Sound commercial and financial understanding
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Effective problem-solving and decision-making ability
