The Role

As our Wedding & Special Event Manager, you will take full ownership of event delivery from initial concept through to flawless execution.

You will:
  • Develop creative concepts, themes and detailed run-sheets
  • Liaise closely with clients to understand their vision and budget
  • Source, negotiate and manage relationships with venues, caterers, suppliers and contractors
  • Create, monitor and report on event budgets
  • Oversee marketing and promotion (social media, print, PR)
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, liquor, gaming and venue regulations
  • Lead on-site logistics and manage staff, volunteers and contractors during events
  • Conduct post-event debriefs, prepare evaluation reports and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Organises and coordinates services for conferences, events, functions, banquets and seminars
What We’re Looking For
  • Diploma or higher qualification in Business, Hospitality, Event Management or a related field OR at least three years’ relevant experience
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and multitask under pressure
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities
  • Hands-on experience in budgeting, supplier management and event logistics will be preferred
  • Proficiency with MS Office and event-planning software will be preferred
  • A creative mindset, attention to detail and unwavering commitment to client satisfaction
  • a Class 2 Truck licence would be preferred as the manager may be required to drive a truck ocassionally in absence of driving staff.
What We Offer
  • Competitive wage: NZD $32-33 per hour
  • Minimum 30 hours per week, with scope for additional hours during peak seasons only
