We have opportunities for experienced Registered Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists or other Health Professionals with suitable acute Mental Health experience to join our Acute Response Team (ART) at the Adult Community Mental Health Team in Taupo, Southern Lakes.

If you are looking to join a passionate team who places great value on putting people first, embedding Te Ao Māori in every-day practice, leading with kindness and achieving excellence together; then this may be the opportunity for you.Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.About the roleKey responsibilities are to deliver a specialist crisis intervention to tangata whaiora presenting with a mental health crisis.The position is based in Taupo but includes service delivery in the entire Lakes area, including Rotorua.Permanent, full or part time vacanciesPart time (0.80 FTE: 32 hrs / week)Rostered shifts Monday to Sunday: Rostered shifts (e.g. four on (AM/PM) / two off (pro-rata) or similar pattern)Roster may include on-call or night shiftAppropriate penal rates and rest breaks apply About youYou should / should have Demonstrate safe, quality clinical practise that is evidence based and reflects best practise Demonstrate pathophysiological and psycho-social knowledge and skills in assessment of holistic health needs, formulation of clinical opinion, planning and delivery of care, ensuring this aligns with the model of care, Te Ara Tauwhirotanga.Within the acute care setting the focus is to work alongside tāngata whai ora and whānau (family) to achieve maximum health potential that is meaningful to them.Ability to provide advanced assessment, formulation and management of complex nursing care in an acute community mental health care settingAbility to engage in contemporary practice with an equity focus in order to achieve improved outcomes for Māori accessing care You must hold an appropriate registration and be eligible to work in Mental Health, with a current APC Minimum of 3 years post graduate experience in an acute mental health settingPost-Graduate training in mental health will be an asset.
