Position Type: Full-Time (Minimum 30 hours/week, rostered shifts)
Pay Rate: $28.00 – $30.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Start Date: As soon as possible – to allow for a smooth handover from current staff
Due to the upcoming departure of two key kitchen staff members, Asian Wok is urgently seeking two skilled and experienced cooks: One for the Main Kitchen
One for the Yum Char Section
We are looking for candidates who can quickly adapt, work independently, and maintain the high standards of our busy restaurant.
Main Responsibilities: Main Kitchen Cook
Prepare and cook a variety of traditional Chinese hot dishesAssist with menu planning and kitchen operations
Manage ingredient usage and support inventory control
Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, and safety standards
Yum Char CookPrepare, steam, and present a range of Chinese dim sum dishes such as siu mai, har gow, and BBQ pork buns
Maintain quality, consistency, and portion control
Handle both frozen and freshly prepared ingredients
Keep workstations clean and equipment well-maintained
Ideal Candidate Must Have: Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a commercial Chinese kitchen (reference required)
Strong cooking techniques with a focus on efficiency and food safetyAbility to work well under pressure and as part of a team
Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends, and public holidays
Reliable, responsible, and ready to contribute from day one
