About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented contractor to conduct Healthy Homes Assessments and Smoke Alarm Compliance Assessments for rental properties across Auckland. This role is ideal for someone with experience in property inspections, compliance assessments, or a trade background who is looking for flexible, contract-based work.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct Healthy Homes Standards assessments, ensuring rental properties comply with New Zealand’s Healthy Homes regulations.
- Inspect properties for compliance with insulation, ventilation, heating, moisture ingress, and draught stopping requirements.
- Perform smoke alarm compliance checks, ensuring all alarms meet legal requirements and are correctly positioned and operational.
- Prepare reports on compliance status, highlighting required improvements where necessary. All app based.
- Maintain accurate records and complete assessments in a timely manner.
- Liaise professionally with property owners, tenants, and property managers.
- Previous experience in property inspections, building compliance, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of the Healthy Homes Standards and smoke alarm regulations in New Zealand (training can be provided).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow compliance guidelines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule.
- A reliable vehicle, full New Zealand driver’s license, and necessary tools (e.g., ladder, smoke alarm tester).
- Ability to use reporting software or mobile applications for assessments.
