Maintenance Fitter & Fabricator
About the Role
We manufacture large water tanks out of our facility in West Auckland. We don't just run production lines here—we actually design and build our own specialized machinery completely in-house.
We are looking for a reliable, practical Maintenance Fitter & Fabricator who wants a 100% shop floor role. No office jockeys, no endless paperwork. This is a true jack-of-all-trades job where you’ll use a massive variety of workshop gear, working with everything from a basic lathe to an English wheel.
We aren't a frantic, high-stress place—we focus on getting the job done right and keeping everyone safe. Your time will be spent building our in-house machines, making moulds, fabricating light trailers to a heavy standard, and keeping the plant running.
The Priorities- Repairs Come First: Breakdowns don't happen every day, but when they do, everything else stops. Your top priority is always to get the factory machines or trailers back up and running.
- Machine Maintenance: When things are running smoothly, you'll be checking and servicing our tank-making machinery and trailers to stop problems before they start.
- In-House Builds & Fabrication: You’ll help build our custom production machines from scratch, fabricate trailers, and do mould making.
- Welding & Machining: A mix of general fabrication welding (mostly MIG, with some basic TIG welding) and hands-on machining.
- Solid Trade Experience: A good background in either mechanical maintenance fitting or metal fabrication.
- The Right Attitude: Reliability is everything. We want a practical problem-solver who can pivot instantly when a machine breaks down, get it fixed, and get back to fabrication.
- Willingness to Learn: You don't need to know how to do every single thing on day one. If you are reliable and have the right basic trade foundation, we are willing to teach you the rest (like mould making, specific machining, or TIG welding).
- Pay Based on Your Skills: We pay fairly based on what you bring to the table, with room to move as you learn.
- On-the-Job Upskilling: Learn specialized skills you won't get in a standard production workshop.
- Good Environment: A small team based workplace that values quality and safety over rushed, stressful production targets.
- Heaps of Variety & No Desk Time: 100% on the floor doing real trade work. No two days are the same.
- If you’ve got the right attitude and want a varied role in West Auckland where you can actually expand your trade skills, apply now with your CV or get in touch.
