HVAC Site Supervisor

This is not a “keep-the-seat-warm” role. This is a ‘build it from the ground up’, ‘roll up your sleeves’, ‘lead from the front’ find of gig. You’ll be the engine on site. The go-to. The one who keeps projects moving, teams aligned and installs done right the first time.
The Company
This privately operated HVAC company, with roots firmly planted in the Waikato, has over 50 years of experience delivering trusted heating and cooling solutions across the Waikato region. Specialising in residential and commercial heat pumps and air conditioning with a strong reputation for quality workmanship and long term client relationships.With tenders accepted and contracts locked in - it’s time to set up in the Taranaki region. This role needs someone who’s done it before and wants more responsibility - not less.
You’ll be:
- Leading on-site HVAC installation, commissioning and maintenance
- Managing technicians, subcontractors and labour crews
- Owning the day-to-day delivery of commercial HVAC installation projects
- Interpreting drawings, specs and schedules alongside running toolbox talks, safety briefings, and site inspections
- Coordinating materials, manpower and tools to keep things efficient and liaising with project managers, engineers, clients and other trades
- Tracking progress, productivity, delays, and variations are all part of these large contracts and you will oversee testing, commissioning and final handover
- Your attention to detail means all site documentation is tight and compliant
You will have:
- Proven experience as an HVAC Supervisor on commercial construction projects with expert HVAC knowledge
- Background in fabrication or strong engineering environments, you understand the mechanics behind heating and air conditioning systems for commercial sites and have the know-how to troubleshoot and problem solve issues.
- Strong communicator (on site and in writing) with expert knowledge, interpreting mechanical drawings & specs for commercial installations
- Experience running teams and coordinating contractors, your natural leadership style is firm, fair and based on respected
- Health & safety is always at the forefront of your work and you have the experience
- A clean full driver’s licence
- Ability to work extended hours or weekends as needed
