The Role | Mo tenei turanga mahi

**This full-time role is based at our Rotorua site, working Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.30pm.**

In this role, you'll work closely with closely with clients, their whanau, and key community partners to help people find, move to, and sustain housing:

  • Collaborate with other Housing Case Workers to assess needs and ensure safe, effective, and ethical care
  • Coordinate and manage referrals from mental health residential services into appropriate independent housing.
  • Work to identify and remove barriers that prevent people from accessing supported independent living.
  • Provide practical support to clients to grow their housing readiness and tenancy skills.
  • Navigate the social housing sector and work with community providers to connect clients with the right support.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with community partners, including mental health and addiction services.
  • Provide professional social work guidance and guidance for staff and kiritaki.
  • Assist kiritaki to sustain their tenancies and thrive within the community.

We're looking for a registered Social Worker who would like to use their professional skills to make a difference in the housing and residential recovery space.

Ideal candidates will possess the following:

  • A current practising certificate and registration with the Social Workers Registration Board (you'll be supported by LinkPeople to maintain your ongoing professional development and registration).
  • A full New Zealand driver licence.
  • Understanding of housing, mental health, addiction, and/or social service sectors.
  • Ability to work cross-culturally - especially with Maori and Pasifika - and commitment to addressing Maori health and housing inequities.
  • Knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
