About the Role

We have exciting opportunities for experienced midwives seeking a leadership role within our maternity service. As a Clinical Midwife Manager, you will provide day-to-day midwifery leadership and management across our secondary Birthing Suite and combined antenatal/postnatal ward, supporting care for approximately 2,000 women annually.

Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua | MidCentral is a leader in maternity care innovation in New Zealand. We've pioneered the use of misoprostol for induction of labour and implemented Robson 10 Groups for continuous audit and quality improvement.

This role is ideal for midwives passionate about delivering high-quality inpatient care, leading improvement initiatives, and confident in antenatal, labour, birth, and postnatal care. Leadership experience is highly valued.

About you

As a Clinical Midwife Manager, you will bring:

  • A current Midwifery APC and relevant clinical experience
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Experience in quality improvement initiatives
  • Confidence in providing antenatal, labour, birth, and postnatal care
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
