Job Description

In this exciting 2-year fixed-term role, you’ll develop a roadmap for reducing emissions and improving energy efficiency across Hall’s national fleet and refrigeration systems at cold storage sites. From leading audits to exploring emerging technologies, your work will directly contribute to smarter operations and a greener future.

The successful candidate will report to the Talley’s Group Energy Engineer and will receive ongoing training and mentorship through hands-on project work, offering strong opportunities for learning and professional development.

What you’ll do:
  • Design and deliver an energy efficiency and decarbonisation strategy for our fleet and cold storage sites
  • Conduct energy audits and lead feasibility studies
  • Identify and assess new energy-saving and decarbonisation opportunities
  • Keep up to date with emerging energy technologies and explore applications for our business
  • Produce clear and insightful energy reports and business cases
  • Provide early-stage technical and commercial advice on new energy initiatives
  • Support CAPEX planning through strong commercial modelling
  • Engage and upskill site teams to embed energy-saving improvements across operations

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:
  • A recent graduate (or soon-to-be) in engineering or a related discipline, ideally with a focus on energy, sustainability, or mechanical systems
  • A self-starter who’s eager to learn and make a difference
  • Strong analytical skills and a practical mindset
  • Good communication and collaboration skills – you’ll be working with teams across the business
  • A genuine interest in sustainability, technology, and innovation
