  • Our opportunityThis role will support the development and implementation of Kāinga Ora's placemaking community programmes and activations in Lakeside, Te Kauwhata.The Programme Manager Placemaking
  • Lakeside, Te Kauwhata will work closely with the development teams, community development and engagement team, local community groups and stakeholders to support new and existing initiatives aimed at strengthening people's connection to place, supporting a strong sense of place and identity, and embedding placemaking activities and initiatives in Kāinga Ora's projects.As the development grows, the Programme Manager Placemaking
  • Lakeside,Te Kauwhata will lead and coordinate a series of placemaking initiatives from conception to completion, and ensure that the masterplanning and delivery processes are appropriate and strongly informed by the community.This role requires a minimum of three days per week to be worked from the office while primarily based in the Waikato office, this involves working across both the Te Kauwhata and Waikato offices.Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu
  • What you will bringTo succeed in this role, the ability to be self-managing and highly motivated is essential.
In adding to your relevant tertiary qualification and experience working with communities to achieve sustainable placemaking outcomes, you will bring: Relevant experience in residential development sector A proven record in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with individuals, groups and peers
  • able to influence, manage competing interests, manage conflict and work effectively with senior leadership, senior managers, and multiple internal and external stakeholders Significant experience in working with community groups and stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes Project management experience and ability to manage projects within a matrix organisation Experience in delivering programmes or plans that are time critical Experience of working with mana whenua, iwi Māori Hands-on problem solving work ethic Able to manage and prioritise a range of competing work demands to ensure positive outcomes Excellent verbal and written communication skills based on sound reasoning, to ensure complex issues are communicated in a simple and logical manner to colleagues, community leaders and other stakeholders Formal presentation skills Analytical thinking skills and attention to detail.Nōu te rourou
