  • Te Pūriri o Te Ora, delivering high-quality care to patients across Northland and Auckland Metro.In the past year, the New Zealand Government has increased funding in the medicines budget by over $600 million over four years, for publicly funded provision of 33 new cancer and 33 new non-cancer medicines.

It is estimated that 92,240 patients across the country will access these medicines in the first year.This was accompanied by new funding for Health NZ to ensure the increased capacity to deliver these medicines is in place and care can be distributed into communities and rural settings.

This is a brilliant opportunity to provide care closer to where people live.Health NZ is undergoing an unprecedented period of development in cancer care.

To make this work, we need a skilled, progressive, and passionate Operational Pharmacist to step into a newly created role.As an Operational Pharmacist, youll be part of a dynamic, collaborative pharmacy team, working together with the multidisciplinary medical oncology team, delivering patient-focused care, contributing to service development and quality improvement.

In playing a key role in expanding cancer and blood services, youll bring your technical expertise, a commitment to continuous learning, and a passion for equitable, evidence-based cancer care.You will also undertake a range of operational duties, all supporting the efficient supply and procurement of medicines for our patients.

A key focus of this role will be the processing and coordination of biologic and cytotoxic infusions to support the continued expansion of the LDO service.This is a full-time permanent position, working 40 hours per week spread over a Monday
  • Friday roster with occasional rostered Saturdays or Sundays and public holiday involvement at our North Shore Hospital site.You will demonstrate the values of the Te Whatu Ora Waitematā Pharmacy team.
