The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) is looking for a skilled and adaptable Field Intelligence Officer to join our national field intelligence team.
We're seeking candidates who bring a mix of field experience, analytical thinking, and interpersonal skills.

You'll need to be comfortable working in ambiguous situations, making sound judgements, and engaging with a wide range of people.

  • Skills and Experience Required Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Sound judgement and a problem-solving mindset Ability to work independently and adapt to changing operational needs Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Willingness to travel and work flexible hours, including short periods away from home.
A current New Zealand driver's licence.
NZ citizenship or residence class visa (if based in NZ).
Ability to obtain and maintain a national security clearance.
Desirable Experience Experience in intelligence collection, law enforcement, defence, or regulatory environments.
Tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

Understanding of MBIE's operating environment and national security systems.
