STEAM/STEM Educator
Imagine coming to work every day knowing you are directly improving the opportunities and outcomes for young people.
We are seeking an enthusiastic STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Maths) Educator to join our award-winning and diverse team. In this role, you will have the rewarding opportunity to educate and inspire students across a variety of ages, demographics, and learning needs — keeping every day exciting and meaningful.
Because we operate outside Ministry of Education (MOE) constraints, you’ll get to focus on the best parts of teaching: engaging with students, creating memorable learning experiences, and avoiding heavy admin and reporting. Our students typically range from 5–15 years old, and with two educators per class, you’ll have the chance to collaborate, share ideas, and deliver engaging lessons together. You should feel comfortable working with neurodiverse children and students who have English as a second language.
As part of our close-knit team, you’ll also help with the day-to-day operations of our organisation when not working directly with children.
We are looking for an Educator who brings:- A caring, compassionate nature
- A friendly, comforting smile
- Reliability and honesty
- A genuine interest in STEAM/STEM
- Willingness to upskill and work as part of a team
- Confidence to lead a class or activity with support
- Legally able to work in NZ
- A full NZ driver’s license
We can provide training on the rest — and before you know it, you’ll be having fun assisting students as they explore and create with our awesome robotics kits, or be delivering other STEAM activities alongside our experienced, friendly team!
Currently the role is 22hrs/week- 9am-2:45pm Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri. However, this is negotiable. Some school holiday availability would be advantageous. Police vetting is compulsory as per the Vulnerable Children's Act.
