New Zealand needs to build a skilled workforce and ATNZ are currently looking for mechanically minded individuals who want to start a career in General Engineering. We are recruiting a General Engineering Apprentice for our host company located in **Morrinsville**.
If successful you will be employed by ATNZ and assigned to this host company where you will receive valuable on-the-job training while studying to become a fully qualified engineer.
**What does a General Engineering Apprentice do?**
General engineers have broad skills and knowledge of welding, fabrication, machining, and fitting. Their work includes:- Fitting and assembly.
- Machine shop.
- Service and repair.
- Manufacturing.
- General fabrication of machines and equipment, including hydraulics and pneumatics.
**About the Host Company:**
Our host company is a well-established, New Zealand–owned general engineering firm, specialising in farm and dairy-shed steelwork solutions. With a focus on both large-scale structural projects and detailed component fabrication, they bring a breadth of expertise that provides outstanding learning opportunities for apprentices.
Some of the things they do involve:- Providing turnkey engineering solutions, including structural steelwork, batch-production parts, and ongoing maintenance.
- Manufacturing a wide range of dairy and livestock-farming products, such as gates, circular yard equipment, herringbone and rotary installations, and custom platforms and handrails.
- Designing systems for water and electrical integration, including centre-posts, water swivels, and yard-wash systems. Emphasising both functionality and durability.
- Are you committed to 3-4 years of study whilst working full time?

- Have you completed a pre trade course or do you have experience in the trades / mechanical engineering industry?
