Metal Fabricator

Enterprise Recruitment is working alongside leaders in the manufacturing and maintenance service industry in New Zealand. Due to the continual growth in this market, our client - a New Zealand owned and operated manufacturing and maintenance service maintenance provider - is looking for 3 Metal Fabricators to join their growing team.

These roles will be based in the Wellington region, but you could be required to work in Manawatu-Whanganui, Hawkes Bay and Waikato region, depending on the clients' needs. Accommodation and relocation cost will be covered by the client for the first two weeks of assignment and while travelling for work.

You will be offered:

• Permanent employment in line with NZ employment law, with a competitive remuneration package to match your experience ($30-$35 per hour)
• 30-hour work week guaranteed. Monday to Friday 8am-5pm.

To be successful for this role, you need to have the following skills and 2 years’ verifiable work experience:

• Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
• Selecting, cleaning and preparing metal stock
• Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
• Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
• Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
• Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
• Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
• Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
• Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding
