Heavy Machine Operator - Waikato

About the role:
- Stellar Recruitment currently have multiple Heavy Machine Operator positions available in the Waikato region.
- Full time, permanent work with a guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week
- Your ordinary hours of work will be 40 hours per week normally worked between 6:00am-6:00pm Monday to Friday. However, you may be required to work the occasional Saturday.
- $25-$30 per hour
What you need to be successful in this role:
- You must have at least 1.5 years of relevant work experience
- You must be able to work within the timeframe of the project and be a reliable member of the team.
- Knowing, understanding, communicating, and ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety regulations
- Experience in the earthmoving sector with experience operating dozers, diggers, graders and scrapers
- Candidates who can operate GPS machines and do everything from bulk earthmoving, trenching, digging and final trim finished will be looked upon favourably.
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Conduct bulk excavation works
- Load Trucks
- Dig trenches
- Batter trimmings
- Operate a variety of power and hand tools
- Ensure tools and equipment are cleaned, maintained and stored
- Assess, identify and notify Supervisor or any technical issues
- Operate various items of plant and ancillary equipment as required by Supervisor, including but not limited to excavators, loaders, dozers, dump trucks and other associated machinery

Our clients currently have projects across the regions of Auckland, Waikato, Northland, Bay of Plenty and we aim to place successful candidates into projects within one of these regions based on their place of residence or preference. Daily commuting between regions and projects will not be expected but should projects within a particular region cease, relocation to an alternative region may be required, in which case notice will be given, and relocation policies will apply.
