About the Role We have anexciting opportunity for a Mental Health Support Worker to join our multidisciplinaryinpatient team.You will bejoining an established team dedicated to improving health outcomes for ourtangata whaiora and whānau.
You will be working under the delegation of aRegistered Nurse and working with individual tangata whaiora to support them inactivities of daily living, assist with observations to support our assessmentprocesses and ensure routine clinical and non-clinical tasks are completed asrequired on a day to day basis.
You will be flexible and willing to workcollaboratively as part of a team to provide quality care and assessment tomeet identified client needs. About theTeam/Service Location The Mental Health Service Older Persons (MHSOP) is a mental healthspecialty service.
The service is primarily community based and providesspecialist assessment, treatment and rehabilitation services for people experiencingmental health needs in later life. The inpatient unit and community team arelocated in the same building on the Kenepuru Community Hospital campus.

About you You will beflexible and willing to work collaboratively as part of a team to providequality care and assessment to meet identified client needs. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have:-' Experienceof providing care to older adults with mental health needs or an interestdeveloping skills, experience in this specialty area.' Meetminimum training requirements having completed or in the process or completingNational Certificate in Mental Health & Wellbeing Support (Level 4) orequivalent.' Demonstrateability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals.' Besolution focused with excellent time management skills and the ability toeffectively and efficiently complete tasks.

' Excellentcommunication and interpersonal skills and proven ability to engage people atall levels.'
