Foreman / Supervisor (Rope Access Drilling)
Groundfix is a national award-winning specialist civil and geotechnical contracting firm who are renowned for high quality work and technical expertise. We are looking for Site Foremen or Working Supervisors experienced in geotechnical rope access and civil construction to join our team.
The roles are based in Auckland, but you will be required to travel around New Zealand as per projects requirements. The company will cover the travel and accommodation expenses for work outside of Auckland.
About the role:An on site and hands on role, you will balance between assisting the team with the physical works and keeping things rolling on site.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will arrange, direct and monitor on-site construction activities to ensure works meet the projects commercial, quality and environmental objectives.
Planning and programing of project works, organising materials, plant and subcontractors to meet project requirements.
Provide training and mentorship to junior site staff and guide their development.
Maintain high Health & Safety standards and ensure others on site adhere to good Health & Safety practices.
Managing and completing daily site diaries (DAS), Quality and Health & Safety paperwork.
About you:A natural leader, you will lead by example, getting stuck in with the team and guiding / training junior staff as you work.
Experience in the Geotechnical Rope Access industry.
Current and suitable Industrial Rope Access certification (IRATA L1-3 or IRAANZ L3)
Full, clean NZ Class 1 driver license
Be physically fit.
Demonstrate a good track record in technical delivery and paperwork
Good attitude toward Health and Safety
Good communication skills
Ability to build and maintain working relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds
Strong eye for detail, good use of initiative and strong problem-solving skills.
Practical and organized with a ‘can do’ attitude and willing to learn new skills.
Honest, reliable and a team playerClear communication skills and the ability to liaise with client representatives in a professional and courteous manner.
Preferable skills and experience: Experience using / operating rope access drills (A-frame / wagon drill & high reach drilling equipment).
Experience operating excavator mounted / tracked drill rigs for ground anchoring / soil nailing.Experience in a variety of drilling techniques, such as the use of casing systems (J-lock or Robit systems etc.) and self-drilling anchors.
Experience in steel fixing or shotcrete application would be seen as beneficial.
EWP, WTR or Forklift trade certificates would be advantageous but not essential.
First aid and site safe/construct safe qualifications preferred but not essential.
