Structural Steel Detailer

We are a well-established manufacturer and installer of structural steel, and deal with all range of projects from house beams to large commercial projects.

We currently have a Structural Steel Draftsman position available in Temuka for the right person and can offer an immediate start with fulltime hours.

For the successful applicant we can offer:

• $29.66 per hour, to be paid weekly
• Full-time employment for 40 hours per week, with time and half for any additional hours

To be successful you will need to be a proactive person who is willing to work hard and be an active part of a cool work environment, where your role will include:

• Interpreting architectural and engineering plans
• Understanding of regulations, and codes of practice
• Preparing initial sketches
• Preparing and compiling assembly drawings, detailed drawings, and erection plans
• Compiling Advance Bill of Materials for drawings, denoting a comprehensive list of all the main steel components required

You will also need to demonstrate that you meet the following requirements, for which you will be accountable as part of the role:

• At least 3 years of proven, relevant work experience in structural steel detailing, or a qualification equivalent to a Level 4 certificate in New Zealand
• Be able to work independently and handle multiple projects
• Able to demonstrate a good work ethic and be a team player.
