Dental Assistant - Hospital Dental Services

About the Role
Te Whatu Ora MidCentral has preschool, school, adolescent and hospital dental services which can include assessment and treatment under general anaesthetic/ IV sedation.
We currently have a temporary 12 month, full-time position available for a highly motivated Dental Assistant. As a Dental Assistant you will be responsible for providing chair side/ operative assistance, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patient care and ensuring that clinics are set up and meet infection control standards.
We are seeking:
- NZQA Level 3: New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing - Dental Assisting
- Effective written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
- Sensitivity to cultural differences and commitment to the articles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi in everyday practice.
- Commitment to ongoing personal development, professional development and service improvement.
- Commitment to providing quality customer focused service
- Ability to work within defined policies, legislative and contractual requirements
- Ability to work and contribute positively within a team
- Effective time management
- Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to develop rapport with tamariki / tangata whaiora and their whanau,
