Transport Coordinator

placeChristchurch calendar_month

Operating within the livestock and transport space, this business plays a huge role in keeping things moving behind the scenes across NZ. They're now looking for someone to step into a busy coordination role and help keep livestock movements running smoothly day-to-day.

Fast-paced role with plenty happening across scheduling, logistics and transport coordination. You'll be dealing with livestock reps, transport providers, scheduling, changes on the fly, and plenty of moving parts throughout the day.

The first couple of days of the week usually start with processing and scheduling happening quickly, while later in the week shifts into planning and prepping transport movements ahead of the weekend.

You'll be joining the transport team with good people around you, strong systems, and a manager who is highly respected internally. The office is social without being over the top, supportive, and full of people who genuinely get on well.

Initially being offered on a contract basis, with the expectation of being offered a fixed-term role or a long term contract opportunity.

What's in it for you?
  • Likely longer-term opportunity despite initial contract term
  • Step into a busy operational seat quickly with real responsibility
  • Great team culture with supportive management
  • Monday to Friday role - 8am to 5pm
  • Flexibility around start and finish times
  • Strong mix of logistics, coordination and problem solving
  • Growing NZ business with exciting future plans
  • Social team with after-work drinks and quiz nights
  • Opportunity to learn a unique side of the agriculture industry

This role suits someone who enjoys fast-paced coordination work and can stay calm when plans change quickly. You'll need to be organised, practical, and confident juggling multiple priorities while communicating with transport providers and internal teams throughout the day.

Agri, livestock, rural, transport or logistics exposure would be highly beneficial, but just as important is someone who can think ahead, solve problems quickly, and keep things moving when things get busy.

What we are looking for:

  • Either a very strong administration/organisational background within the agriculture industry, or previous scheduling and coordination experience
  • Agri, livestock or animal welfare exposure highly beneficial
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-critical environment
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Organised, proactive and solutions-focused approach
  • High attention to detail and confidence with systems
  • Someone who enjoys problem solving and staying busy

Please apply online now, or fire your CV through to christchurch@Heights.nz

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa - sponsorships are not available for this role.
