About the Role
You will be joining our Supported Independent Living Team in Taupo. As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in making a real difference in the lives of individuals with complex disabilities. You will work closely with these individuals, helping them develop essential life skills, meet their needs, and stay connected with their community, whanau, and significant places.Your support will empower them to achieve greater independence, grow, and learn. This is a significant responsibility, and we are here to support you every step of the way.
This role offers 20 hours per fortnight, with the possibility of increased hours.
About You
We are seeking someone who naturally embodies kindness, empathy, and reliability. You should excel at time management, work well as part of a team, and approach challenges with creativity and problem-solving skills. A good sense of humour and a genuine passion for building meaningful connections are highly valued.
The ideal candidate will have strong computer literacy and excellent communication skills. You should be adaptable and resilient, with the ability to respond effectively to changing circumstances. Empathy, flexibility, and a solutions-oriented mindset are key attributes for this role.
Essential Requirements:
- Candidates must be willing to undergo a criminal background check and Oranga Tamariki screening
- A full New Zealand driver’s license and the legal right to work in New Zealand are required
- Valid First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
- Certificate in Health and Wellbeing, or willingness to obtain
