Service Technician - Auckland

Downer is seeking a skilled **Telecommunications Service Technician** to join our Auckland team, supporting the delivery, maintenance and fault response of critical telecommunications infrastructure across New Zealand.
In this hands-on role, you'll work across service and project environments, taking ownership of allocated sites and ensuring networks are installed, serviced and maintained safely, efficiently and to a high standard. You'll work closely with Field Managers, engineers and customers while playing a key role in keeping communities connected.On-call and call-out work forms part of this role.

**Nga pukenga matua | What We're Looking For**
You're a practical, safety-focused technician who enjoys problem-solving and working independently in the field. You'll bring:
- Minimum **3 years' experience** in the telecommunications industry, ideally across copper and/or fibre networks
- **NZQA Level 3 Telecommunications** qualification or equivalent industry experience
- Experience with **jointing, fault**-**finding equipment** and interpreting plans and drawings
- Strong service and/or project delivery experience
- A proactive approach to **faults, call**-**outs and site ownership**
- Commitment to **Zero Harm**, safe work practices and quality outcomes
- Clear communication skills and the ability to build positive customer relationships
- Full **clean New Zealand Driver's Licence**
- Willingness to participate in a **24/7 on**-**call roster**
Rigging or additional network certifications are an advantage but not essential.
