Malaysia Delights Limited is looking for a Permanent full-time Restaurant Manager. You will be expected to work between 30 and 40 hours per week and be paid between $30 to $36 per hour. You will be expected to work in a busy environment, but you must be presentable, reliable, and able to deliver under pressure while maintaining the highest quality and presentation standards.
The main tasks included, but were not limited to, the following:- Accomplish restaurant human resource objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Achieve restaurant operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; implementing change.
- Meet restaurant financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analysing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Plan menus by consulting with chefs; estimate food costs and profits; adjust menus.
- Control costs by reviewing portion control and quantities of preparation; minimising waste; ensuring high quality of preparation.
- Avoid legal challenges by conforming to the regulations related to the consumption of alcoholic beverages.
- Maximise profitability by ensuring portion control; monitoring the accuracy of charges.
- Publicise the restaurant by designing and placing advertisements; inviting food editors to review the restaurant; contacting local, regional, and national magazines with feature ideas; and encouraging local businesses to hold social events at the restaurant.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations; securing revenues; developing and implementing disaster plans; maintaining security and sprinkler systems; and maintaining parking lot and walkways.
- Maintain ambience by controlling lighting, background music, linen service, glassware, dinnerware, and utensil quality and placement; monitoring food presentation and service.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organisations.
- Enhance department and organisation reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a business environment;
- Must be able to work unsupervised;
- Have at least 3 years of experience as a Business Manager or related qualification;
- Enjoy being part of a small team and must be able to communicate with Customers and
existing Chefs; -Reliable, hardworking and well organised
