Psychiatric Registrar, WhakatāneFulltime role - commencing February 2027Join a fantastic opportunity as a Psychiatric Registrar in the sunny Bay of Plenty! Working across Tauranga and Whakatāne Hospitals, this role offers exposure to a diverse and supportive clinical environment, with opportunities for both basic and advanced training in psychiatry.

The psychiatric team is well-established and dedicated to providing high-quality mental health care across the Bay of Plenty region, with services spanning both Tauranga and Whakatāne Hospitals.About youAs a Psychiatric Registrar, you will have a strong passion for psychiatry and a commitment to enhancing the mental well-being of those in the community.
You will hold an MBChB or equivalent medical qualification, and full registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ). A keen interest in psychiatry and a dedication to pursuing RANZCP-accredited training are essential. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team are key.
While previous psychiatric experience is preferred, it is not essential, and we are open to applicants with varying levels of experience.All Applications Should Include Up-to-date CV and completed Te Whatu Ora online application Three x referee reports (one of whom must be your most recent supervisor).
