Regional Operations Manager, South Island
About the role
BioGiene', a leading provider of environmentally-friendly cleaning and sanitation solutions, is seeking a talented Regional Operations Manager to oversee our South Island (NZ) operations. This is a full-time position based in Christchurch Central Canterbury, with the opportunity to play a pivotal role in the continued success and growth of our organisation.
What you'll be doing
Providing strategic leadership and direction to our South Island operations team
Optimising operational efficiency and productivity across our regional facilities
Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction
Overseeing the recruitment, training and development of our regional workforce
Ensuring compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations
Collaborating cross-functionally to align regional operations with the company's overall business objectives
Reporting on key performance metrics and presenting recommendations to senior management
What we're looking for
Proven track record of 5+ years in a regional or operations management role, ideally within the manufacturing, transport or logistics sectors
Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and process improvement methodologies
Excellent people management and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
Solid problem-solving and decision-making capabilities, with a focus on driving operational excellence
Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Business, Engineering, Supply Chain Management) or equivalent experience
Familiarity with quality management systems and regulatory compliance requirements
Proficient in using data analytics to inform operational strategies and reporting

Key Responsibilities
Lead regional operations by driving strategic initiatives, continuous improvement, and strong stakeholder relationships to enhance service delivery and customer satisfaction. Provide visible leadership across sites, setting clear goals, building capability, and fostering a high-performance, values-driven culture.
Oversee operational excellence by implementing performance metrics, optimising resources, and ensuring consistent delivery against KPIs, quality standards, and compliance requirements. Champion a proactive Health & Safety culture, ensuring all sites meet regulatory standards and are audit-ready, while effectively managing risk and continuous improvement initiatives.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, representing the business professionally at all levels and ensuring exceptional customer experiences.
Support the development of high-performing teams through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning. Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and open communication, while managing employee relations matters with integrity and fairness.
