About the Role

Interested in stepping up into a medical registrar position and or continue your medical registrar journey? Join Rotorua Hospital and enjoy the benefits of working in a smaller hospital, experience general and acute medicine, with a supportive team of consultants, house officers, medical students and nursing staff.

About the Location

Our department consists of Physicians in General Medicine with a wide variety of sub-speciality interests from Cardiology, Endocrinology to Infectious Diseases, as well as an outpatient team, specialist nurses, and visiting sub-specialists. We are accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) for Basic and Advanced Trainees.

Lakes is located in the central North Island of New Zealand - Aotearoa. Rotorua is located approximately 230 kilometers (143 miles) southeast of Auckland, while Taupo is located approximately 80 kilometers (50 miles) south of Rotorua.

Lakes is a geothermal wonderland and is also home to several scenic lakes, including Lake Taupo, the largest lake in New Zealand. Rotorua and Taupo are the go-to places for hiking, mountain biking, and water sports; you can also dive into traditional experiences and learn more about Maori culture in the region.

About you

You will have:

MCNZ registration and or be eligible for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. You can check your eligibility for registration by visiting the Council's website at www.mcnz.org.nz

a minimum of two years' post qualification experience, and a keen interest in providing acute and general medical care to our community.
