Are you ready to make a meaningful impact on New Zealand’s national security landscape? We’re seeking experienced Senior INFOSEC Advisors to join a growing team that’s shaping the future of information security across a unique and high-stakes environment.

About the Role

As a Senior INFOSEC Advisor, you’ll be part of a newly established Information Assurance team, delivering trusted information and cyber security systems that protect critical operations. This is a strategic and consultative role, where you’ll:

• Provide expert INFOSEC advice across projects, platforms, and business processes.
• Influence Defence-wide security initiatives and strategic outcomes.
• Develop policy and guidance to embed INFOSEC principles across the organisation.
• Engage with stakeholders at all levels, translating complex security concepts into actionable insights.

You’ll be based in Wellington CBD, with regular travel to camps and bases nationwide. Flexible working arrangements include 1–2 days remote work per week and options for part-time or job-sharing.

What You’ll Bring

• Information security and international INFOSEC best practices.
• Strategic stakeholder engagement and influence.
• Communicating complex issues clearly to shape security outcomes.
• Navigating both classified and unclassified environments.

Your work will directly support NZ’s operational deployment capabilities, helping to identify and mitigate threats across systems, platforms, and supply chains.

Security Clearance Requirements

Due to the nature of this role, Top Secret clearance is mandatory. To be eligible, you must:

• Be a New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Have lived in a Five Eyes country (NZ, Australia, UK, USA, Canada) for the past 10 years.
