Contract Fishing Vessel Crew - Christchurch
THREE FACTORY FREEZER TRAWLERS

Applications are invited for seagoing positions on Independent Fisheries factory freezer trawlers operating in the NZ Exclusive Economic Zone in 2025. Crew positions include Master, Chief Mate / 2nd Mate, 3rd, 4th Mates, Radio Officer, Chief Engineer, Refrigeration Machinist, Engineering Adjuster, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Engineers, Motorman, Fitter, Turner, FMP Machinist, Refrigeration Engineer, Welder, 1st & 2nd Electrical Engineer, Electricians, Chief Trawlmaster / Trawlmaster, Fish Master, Factory Manager, Cooks, Catering / House-keeping, Doctor, Seaman / Bosun / Factory and Deck crew.
A successful applicant will be required to present themselves, ready for work, at the vessels home port of Lyttelton. Contract period is six months. Each voyage is for 4 to 6 weeks in duration with limited time ashore during port turnarounds.
Previous deep-sea fishing experience is required.

The Company has available sponsored positions for suitable applicants to complete a basic entry level course designed to prepare applicants for employment at sea. The deep-sea training course involves an intense live-in course working to roster similar to what would be experienced while at sea.Applicants who successfully complete the course will be subject to the Companies normal employment processes.
Being suitable for such consideration will depend on a number of factors, including being prepared to undertake further relevant training determined by the Company.
Pre-employment and on-going drug testing is a requirement for all positions.To apply you must be a New Zealand citizen or have a residence class visa.
