ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a proactive Site Engineer to oversee site-based construction activities in the Waikato / Bay of Plenty region, ensuring all project specifications are met while coordinating with internal teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.You will play a critical role in delivering high-quality projects on time, safely, and within budget.
This role will suit someone who is Taupo-based or able to relocate without relocation assistance. You will bring strong technical skills, proven communication abilities, and a solid understanding of civil construction methods and safety standards.
ABOUT YOU
Reporting to the Construction Manager and supporting Contracts Managers across the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions, you will bring:- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Minimum 2 years’ New Zealand experience as a Site Engineer on heavy civil infrastructure projects (including concrete structures)
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety regulations, and quality standards
- Proficiency in MS Office and project management software
- Ability to travel and stay away from home when required
- NZ Citizen or Resident Visa holder
- A self-starter with excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
- Effective communicator who leads by example and demonstrates strong leadership abilities
- Approachable, able to supervise, mentor, and support others
- Taupo-based or ability to relocate (without assistance)
- Qualification in Civil Engineering or related field
- At least 2 years’ NZ Site Engineer experience (heavy civil/concrete structures)
- Strong understanding of construction methods, safety, and quality
- Ability to travel and stay away where required
- NZ Citizen or Resident Visa
- Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
