Machinery Mechanic - Auckland based
OMC Power Equipment is seeking an experienced mechanic to join our Auckland Branch. It’s a great opportunity for a motivated, personable, and results driven mechanic to make a difference at our fledgling workshop and to grow their career within a well established, family owned company.
This role plays a key part in our business, working in our Aftersales team you will be responsible for working on new and used mowing, earthmoving/civil equipment and generators. We have a large range of equipment from tracked dumpers, ride on and remote controlled mowers, compactors and generators.Some of the work is on larger battery power equipment
Some parts and workshop organisation skills are required as this workshop is in development stage with a bright future ahead.
Some work will be required to be done onsite so ability to travel (mainly driving) is required.
Key Responsibilities:- Inspect equipment to identify faults, wear or mechanical issues and complete diagnosis and breakdown repairs.
- Arrange, fit and install required parts and materials.
- Complete accurate and timely job cards
- Help keep the workshop tidy, organised and safe and support general housekeeping and efficiency improvements in the workshop and on site.
- Relevant qualifications in Heavy Diesel Mechanics, Automotive Engineering (Heavy) or a recognized overseas equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years experience of servicing, repairs and/or rebuilds on petrol and diesel machinery
- A clean license with a minimum of Class 1 or 2. A willingness to support teammates and help out with other duties when needed.
- Good communication skills!
