Cropping farm hand - Oamaru - ref. n88685615

We have a full time position available on our 280 ha irrigated cropping and livestock farm located 30 minutes inland of Oamaru. A significant part of our business is in seed production, processing and seed retail.

Hours are likely to be 42.5 hours a week Monday to Friday (but can be negotiated), weekends as required: harvest time, winter grazing and irrigation seasons. Looking for someone who is available from August.

Work involved:

seed cleaning

seed mixing

seed store management (using a forklift)

machinery maintenance

cultivation and other tractor work

shifting irrigators (hard hose gun)

harvesting

winter grazing

stock work

Previous experience in these areas is an advantage but full training will be given to the right applicant.

We are looking for someone who is mechanically minded, motivated, reliable, physically fit and keen to learn.

Remuneration is an hourly rate based on skills and experience. A tidy off farm 3 bedroom house with large section is available which is walking distance away from a primary school and secondary schools bus stop.

Please note you must be eligible to work in NZ and have a full and current drivers license.
