Jet Boat Driver

Experience is a must as driving our commercial boats in the River is technical and the river changes frequently.

• Safely operate commercial jet boats on one of New Zealand's most technical river systems.
• Provide engaging commentary on the local history, culture, and natural environment, including Lord of the Rings filming locations.
• Ensure passenger safety by conducting safety briefings, fitting life jackets, and adhering to strict safety protocols.
• Lead the 60-minute wilderness walk, sharing knowledge about the area’s glaciers, forests, and wildlife.
• Maintain jet boats in collaboration with our service staff, ensuring they are in top condition for daily operations.
• Deliver exceptional customer service, creating a fun, safe, and memorable experience for guests of all ages.

• Valid New Zealand commercial jet boat license.
• Knowledge of the Matukituki River and Mount Aspiring National Park (preferred).
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills to engage guests with local history and culture.
• First Aid certification and knowledge of safety procedures in outdoor adventure settings.
• Physically fit to handle boat operations and lead wilderness walks.
• Passion for adventure tourism and providing world-class customer experiences.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and maintain a positive attitude.

• Experience in adventure tourism or guiding in New Zealand’s wilderness.
• Familiarity with the local Maori history and environmental conservation.
• Mechanical knowledge for basic boat maintenance.
