Curtain Sewing Machine Operator

We are looking for 2 to 3 skilled and reliable Sewing Machine Operator to join our curtain production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sewing, assembling, and finishing custom curtains and related window treatments with precision and care.
Operate industrial sewing machines to produce curtains, valances, and linings based on specific measurements and design requirements.
Thread machines, insert bobbins, and adjust tension settings to ensure high-quality stitching.
Guide fabric panels under needles, following seams, hems, and edge markings to achieve consistent results.
Use foot pedals and knee levers to control machine speed and coordinate attachments such as presser feet, fabric guides, and cutting blades.
Replace needles and attachments as necessary and make minor mechanical adjustments to maintain optimal performance.
Trim excess threads and fabric to achieve clean finishes.
Inspect finished curtain products for defects or inconsistencies and report issues to the maintenance team.
Perform basic machine maintenance, such as cleaning, oiling, and replacing worn parts.
You must have at least 2 years relevant experience for the job.

Applicants must have a good health, character and a good work ethic, must be a team player. Be able to work unsupervised. Remuneration will be in the range of $25-$30 per hour and is indicative of the applicant's background, skills and past work experience.The employee is offered a normal work week of 40 hours with overtime available when required. Normal work hours being Monday to Friday 8am to 4:30pm. Employees are guaranteed payment for at least 30 hours per week. Applicants for this position should have New Zealand residency or a valid NZ work visa.
