Job Description

We are currently seeking a part-time (25-30 hours) Registered Nurse for on site assessment and management of the general health and wellbeing of our people as well as responding to emergencies and providing health education. Hours are negotiable and can be during the school hours bracket if needed.

This exciting role based at our Horotiu plant, which is focusing on improving the health outcomes of our employees.

The successful applicant will be a Registered Nurse who is confident and passionate about delivering employee focused primary care medical services.

Key responsibilities include the following:

  • Employment health screening and diagnostic testing (i.e. hearing/lungs);
  • Assessing employee injuries and completing ACC documentation;
  • Check prescribed medications are appropriate for individuals work tasks;
  • Input into appropriate light duties and phased return to work plans;
  • Engage and foster strong relationships with the local community and healthcare providers;
  • Improve health outcomes for our employees;
  • Occupational health monitoring.
  • Drug and Alcohol screening testing

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A current Registered Nurse Practicing Certificate;
  • A formally recognised qualification in Health,
  • A First Aid certificate;
  • Experience in acute or primary health;
  • Demonstrated understanding of medico-legal and ethical responsibilities;
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about improving healthcare for employees and their communities;
  • Work well under pressure, offering exceptional patient care at all times;
  • A practical understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and its application in the workplace;
