Your new role:You'll head up the software engineering team, reporting directly to the CTO, and play a key role in shaping the organisation's digital future. You'll drive best practice in engineering, modernise architecture, and lead a capable team through transformation—balancing delivery excellence with system reliability and legacy support.
To thrive in this role, you'll need to be adaptable and comfortable with change, as the environment continues to evolve quickly.
Responsibilities:
- Set and evolve technical strategy and solution architecture
- Drive quality engineering practices including CI/CD and secure development
- Lead and grow a high-performing software team
- Oversee delivery of resilient, scalable software products
- Contribute to long-term planning for legacy system decommissioning
- Collaborate with product, operations, and risk teams across the business
Requirements:
- Proven leadership experience in software development environments
- Strong grasp of cloud-native architecture (ideally Azure) and microservices
- Hands-on knowledge of modern stacks- Node.js, Vue.js, PostgreSQL
- Track record of driving continuous improvement in delivery and security
- Confident working with both legacy and modern platforms
- Excellent people leadership and communication skills
- Comfortable with change and able to lead through ambiguity
