We have an exciting opportunity for an Advanced Clinician Physiotherapist to join our Health of Older People – ED Geriatric Services (EDGS) team at Middlemore Hospital.The EDGS is a dedicated service focused on fast-tracking and supporting the flow of geriatric patients from the Emergency Department.
The team includes a Geriatrician, registrar, clinical nurse specialists, and a physiotherapist working collaboratively to ensure timely and effective care.In this role, you will:• Assess and manage a clinically and culturally diverse group of older adults presenting to the Emergency Department.• Work closely with clinical nurse specialists to assess patients’ mobility and functional strength.• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop patient-centered care plans.• Occasionally support inpatient Health of Older People rehabilitation teams.• Have the opportunity to contribute to service development, staff education, and quality improvement initiatives.You will be professionally supported by the interdisciplinary team, Operational Manager, and Professional Lead – Physiotherapy.
