Duty Manager – Ombrellos Kitchen & Bar (Dunedin)
We’re on the lookout for a Duty Manager to join our compact, fun, and supportive team at Ombrellos.You’ll be working alongside a hands-on owner-operator and Restaurant Manager in a busy, well-loved Dunedin venue. This role is ideal for someone with hospitality experience who’s ready to step up, or someone already supervising shifts and keen to grow.
What you’ll be doing- Leading and supervising shifts
- Supporting, training, and delegating tasks to staff
- Opening and closing the venue
- Running smooth services and keeping standards high
- Receiving deliveries, stocktakes, and helping with ordering
- Supporting the team to deliver consistently great food, drinks, and service
-At least 1 year’s experience in a fast-paced hospitality environment
-Basic food-handling knowledge
- Calm under pressure during busy services
- Friendly, professional, and confident communicating with customers and staff
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable, punctual, and motivated
- Available to work weekends, late nights, public holidays, and busy Dunedin events
Supervisory experience is a bonus but not essential — if you’ve got the right attitude, we’ll help you grow. A Duty Manager’s Certificate is required, but we’re happy to support the right person in getting one.
Pay rate: depending on experience
